So that really means that the hypothetical affiliate is small, not the merchant :)

Besides, I think SAS offers consolidated payments.

If you call CJ or write them a letter explaing the benefits of your site to their advertisers they might accept you.
They just don't accept sites from certain countries automatically because of fraud.

SAS does offer consolidated payments. I have heard alot of good things about affiliatefuel lately but have not worked with them yet. DirectRepsonse has some decent lead offers and sometimes higher payment than others.

Why do you want specifically pay-per-lead opposed to other types of affiliate agreements?

That's what I figured as well. I would love to pay my affiliates more per lead but it's this type of affiliate scum who has to ruin it for them.

Yeah! Russia, pay-per-lead and clickxchange...might be the worst combination ever if you are a merchant ofcourse

powerstar could you elaborate a bit about that.

I’m not powerstar but I’m pretty sure I know exactly what he’s talking about. Speaking from past experience, “Russian Affiliate” is synonymous with “Scam Artist”. I’ve dealt with six Russian affiliates and five of them were up to no good. I’m not the only one who has had this type of experience and my small test pool is by no means an anomaly when I talk with other webmasters.

Another red flag the original poster throws up is the request for specifically ‘pay-per-lead’ affiliate programs. PPL programs were demolished by affiliate scum who gave incentives and paid their users to create completely useless leads that affiliate managers had to pay for but got essentially zero return for. In 9 out of 10 situations, if an affiliate is only interested in creating leads, they are looking for a way to make money without their users spending money.

In my affiliate program, we pay for confirmed leads and I tie my affiliate commissions directly to our ROI. Affiliate scum who are only interested in creating leads to get paid dramatically reduce my conversion rate which in turn reduces the commission I pay to my legit affiliates. They aren’t only bad for merchants, they are bad for affiliates.

Thanks for that - any other countries which I should be aware of?

Well, I have had bad experiences with the following countries:

China
Malaysia
Philippines
Former U.S.S.R. republics (I.E. Ukraine, Yugoslavia, etc.)
Hungry
India
Pakistan
Russia (A BIG problem)

Therefore, I reject them all. I agree though, not all the people from those countries are bad, but it’s the few that make it bad for them all.
