Merchant offers higher commision

but requires exclusive agreement

A merchant has offered me a higher commission, on the condition that I sign a contract barring me from working with other affiliate programs in the same line of business. The incentive is a circa 8-9% higher commission.

Is this kind of offer common in the affiliate world?
If some of you have had such offers, how have you responded?

Contract? Better read the fine print. Do they want exclusivity for x number of years? I wouldn't do that.

If they just want exclusivity during the duration of your partnership, then it all boils down to how much you make. Can you make more or less with the new arrangement.
