I just don't believe in get rich quick schemes, but I was wondering if you could even break even or make a small amount?
The way it works is you buy Adwords as cheaply as possible and in the target url. (Adwords requires "affiliate" or equilivent in the text) You describe the affiliate in the text of the Adwords creative. Hopefully, based on the percentage of clicks that buy and the commission, the return will be better than the cost of the Adwords clicks.
Has anyone tried this? Are there affiliate programs that return, on average, more than 10 cent per click (based on conversion rate and commission)?

And so you shouldn't - repeatable get rich quick schemes are fundamentally impossible in any stable economy!
I posted a thread on this a while back. The concensus was that, very sadly, that at this era in the development of the Internet, there is a sufficient catchment of people that are prepared to give a "get rich quick scheme" a go that it can be profitable for the scammer.

Very true. I think the person making the money is the one selling books for $40 on how to use Adwords and how to get on affiliate programs. I haven't seen the book but I bet it is nothing more than what can be found for free on Adwords or affiliate websites.
I am looking for a get less poor slowly scheme.
Does anyone have experience with affiliate programs where the average return per click is more than 10 cents, so you can do better than break even using the adwords to affiliate scheme?

They range in price from $49 to $149 (most purchases are for a $129 product) and pay a commission of 8%. With that size a commission I only need to convert between .4% and 1.3% of the visitors to my site. I had been trying to do affiliate advertising for about a year rather unsuccessfully. I was trying the whole content is king, get listed in Google, blah, blah, blah until I started following these rules with an Adwords to affiliate page partnership…
1.Make sure the product is worth something and pays a descent commission. Forget Amazon.
2.Target the keywords
3.Only bid on targeted keywords
4.Don’t bid on keywords that aren’t targeted
5.Make sure you bid on targeted keywords
6.Remember 2, 3, 4, and 5
BTW, no, I won’t tell you what the products are or who the affiliate company is. While it would be a nice thing to do, I worked pretty dang hard to find this niche.
If these are the same folks then it's going to get real interesting because they seem to just be a contextual matching gateway therefore there are no additional commission fees (Like CJ's 30 percent) on top of what the merchant is already paying their affiliates. So in theory the affiliate ads are targeted automatically which in turn will increase clicks which will increase the content sites revenue.
How to apply the ideas to other programs would be a much better topic.
