I started selling widgets about 5 months ago and so far so good. But I was talking to a friend who sells online and he says holiday sales can boost that 4 week period by 100-200%. As great as that would be I am not sure I am ready for that financially (or mentally :) ) . So the big question is 20-30% more the norm? Also when does it start and end. Thanks for any help.

Really depends on what type of "widgets" your selling ;-)

Figure the season will kick off around Mid Novemeber and run up till about December 15 - 18 ...

Keep those figers crossed ;-)

I guess my question is what will the big holiday toy be this year? Remember how many of those little racing car emails you got last year ....!

Well my widget is holiday sensitive but not toys. Thanks for the dates as that is a good start right there.

We took a survey of our customers and 40% said that they would be begining their holiday shopping in October. Of course, what one thinks they will do and what one actually does are two different things. :)
