Hi All

I currently use Regnow for all my software payments. While they are quite good, althoughtheir fees are rather high. What I really do not like about them is their VERY tight validation checking on credit cards. I get many emails from customers saying Regnow will not accept their payments. I then direct them to PayPal or WorlPay (who I also use on my site) and they never get rejected. Problem with this method is I have to send the customer their software as apposed to instant buy/download.

I get the strong impression I am missing out on a lot of valid sales. Regnow will even stop those with a free email account from buying! Basically, Regnow is checking credit card validity as if I sell and ship physical goods that I would need to buy and restock. As these are digigal goods I can see no reason why the cc checking should be so tight.

Ok, what I am after is an good reliable payment system that is not strict in its validation checking. I also need to have the processor send an email upon purchase where they can download their ordered software. I can do this now with Regnow and have the zip files sitting on their server. The download links they send are only good for 3 downloads or 2 weeks, whichever is first.

Anyone?

WorldPay and PayPal shoudl be fine for instant downloading. Both feature a callback facility, sending details of the payment back to a script on your site. It will require a small amount of programming to interface with the download and you will need to remember to check that the payment was authorised correctly, WorldPay sends back successful and failed payments. PayPal offer something similar, it is not called a callback on their system, but it is an option when you log into your account and they also provide full details on their site of how it works.

Cheers guys.

I have considered utilizing Worlpay but I am unsure how to handle a temp download link for each customer on a product-by-product basis? This is one thing I do like about Regnow, i.e they take care of all this and host the products. If only their security checks were not so stringent.
