We have advertising space available on our specialist sites with quality traffic. Is there any forum where we can post our information for potential advertisers to contact us?

I don't know about any forum, but the best way to reach advertisers is to contact directly the sites that would benefit from your traffic. If you have to, give them a special deal ( or even a free week or whatever) and then show them your click through data so you can justify charging them $$.

Place your own ad in that space and encourage potential advertisers to contact you. You may be surprised how well a "your ad here" banner works.

What is the "theme" of these sites? I may have some ideas as I sell advertising too.

If you do decide to contact any potential advertisers that don't know you already, you may want to pick up the phone instead of sending an unsolicited email. Could get you some trouble.

(DOH! I posted twice...sorry)

An "Advertise with us" page can work wonders for getting advertisers. It is something that many people seem to forget, yet some sites get the majority of their advertisers through these kinds of pages. Be sure to list important details such as availability, pricing, ad specifics, and site stats. It will also save people the trouble of having to email you for further details when they would be more than willing to virtually plunk down their credit card to order their advertising immediately.

Depending on your market, you may also try to sell some of your advertising on eBay, but it seems that ad space gets either quite a few bids with a high ending price, or lucky to even get a single bid. So again, it would depend on your market, but it can't hurt to try ;)
