European Online Ad Spending to Grow 70 Percent in 2001

Will the European market "grow up" before the US?

I have wondered lately if the European ad market would mature before the US, but it still won't happen overnight.

"...Forrester warns that the first half of 2001 will be "relatively quiet," with spending expected to accelerate only in the later months."

Music to us european webmasters ears :)

I don`t think the slump in CPM`s has bitten as hard here in the UK as it has in the US.

I know of one large site (around 5million p.v`s per month) that gets between 8 to 12 UK pounds CPM from one of the major agencies.

Even my own small site (40,000p.v`s a month) has a pure CPM contract of 2UKP(around 3$`s).

Long may it continue...

Hi sproat. Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

It is good to hear those kind of CPMs. I am glad someone is enjoying decent rates.

Have you noticed a steady decline to where you are now, or has it seemed to level off lately?

Would you care to share what banner agencies you would recommend to sites with a European audience?
