No. Textbooks, and college life related gears.

Bi-annual, not annual.

You might think about targeting the fastest moving fields, because those books usually have to be bought new; a copy of "American Novelists of the Nineteenth Century" will probably be resold a few times. Since I work in a medical school, the ones I'm most in touch with would be: just about any science at an advanced level ("general bio" and "chem 101" books might get recycled once or twice); medicine and other post-grad health fields such as dentistry and pharmacy; new fields that are hitting the mainstream, such as nurse practitioner (nursing is rapidly becoming more advanced educationally). And many of these classes do last for two semesters, so fall is better than second semester.

I'd imagine there are other fields where the more advanced levels are moving quickly - poli sci, economics maybe, but I'm not as familiar with them so can't really say.

It may be more difficult to find the advanced students to market to - OTOH, they may be easier to target.

Regarding "college life" - Just know that every year is different! Find out what this year's must have stuff is and jump on it early - like now! - the discount B&M stores are already having sales. I'm not in touch with undergrads, including the freshmen who are buying most of the dorm room essentials, so can't be of much help there. If you like the computer/electronic area, just think portable. More and more colleges are requiring students to have laptop/notebook computers; some supply them, but even if the students don't have to buy the computer they want "cool" plug and play stuff. And since they already have the computer, and have to lug things around, they might be more likely to hit on things they can use with their computer, rather than separate devices (although they all seem to have cell phones permanently attached to their ears). Some of them actually use their computers to study ;-) , so think along those lines, too. Backpacks have gone high-tech; you don't want to dump your notebook computer in among yesterday's Doritos crumbs, so there are special compartments like those in plane carry-ons.

Except for textbooks themselves, it's almost too late for this year, but as the B&M stores sell out there may be some late buyers. And there's always next year. --You'd think that working where I do, I'd have jumped on this, but I didn't really think about it - Now I'm thinking about next year. :-)
