Please explain me low CPMs!

I have a new small website with 20000 impressions / 5000 unique visitors/1500 registered users. (according to google analytics)It will grow. Its kinda like rapidshare, megaupload. I opened it with only US/UK/CA in my mind, its only English (at least for now) but when i check the analytics, i see its like a world map, All European countries, coasts of US, Brazil, Argentine, Australia, India , South of Africa (not just "South Africa") Singapore.... I guess websites like rapidshare,youtube,flickr etc. are not mostly US too.

I tried Adsense and they were giving only 10 cents a day. Its understandable because they use keywords etc. and keyword stuff sucks for sites like this. And bast.s kicked me for "invalid clicks" crap. I didn't earn 10$ and they say invalid clicks.

I was thinking about CPM ads anyway. but see on the forums most of you guys having CPM 1$ or less, to me its unbelievable. I don't remember the site, but i saw an ad network serving lots of good websites and they were telling 6-9$ CPMs, even more for pop-ups. It should be that way. 1$ etc. is very very low. I checked lots of websites with 300.000 impressions per month selling their ad space on their own, and they were asking at least 5$. Even some local non-English websites are asking for at least 15$, and they are not some niche sites, just news.

I don't explain the more impressions=more CPM either. Yes, i don't know whether local TVs and newspapers get as much as CPM as big ones, but they should.

I checked some researches and they were telling at least 3$ CPMs big companies spend.

And i'm making some calculations and rapidshare,megaupload,youtube etc. can't make profit with 1-2$ CPMs most of you get.

i'm not saying 1$ CPM for adsense but also for FastClick, Casale Media etc.
