Paid Advertising - What to charge

I am very familiar with paid advertising as I have a few sites that are niche related where I do have several "sponsors". These are pretty easy to come up with a figure by looking at the competition and taking into a account "what the market will bear"

However on Monday I launched a new site that is really a new concpet and an area I have never marketed too.

I guess to cut to the chase, is there any forumla on what you should charge for paid advertising based on unique hits or traffic per day. I have no clue on what to start off at. Thanks

You can always get a rough estimate by looking at how much the average PPC bid is for the terms. Then based on a general CTR and unique visitors, you could come up with an initial amount and then either lower or raise depending on what the market bears.

Check out any traditional media in the market. See what their rates are and compare to your other site. Perhaps there is a ratio there you can play with.
