I really like the way Chitika ads look and I wish I could make them work on my site. Even though the ads are very relevant to my content no one seems interested. I have moved the ads to several different locations on my site with no luck. I tried them at the top, middle, bottom and on the left and right positions with no change. The CTR and eCPM stay very low.
My final experiment has finally convinced me the something isn't working. I put two 180X150 blocks side by side. In one I put Adsense and the other I put Chitika:
zzzzADSENSEzzzz zzzzCHITIKAzzzz
Adsense did just fine but nothing for Chitika. So I decided that I would reverse the location. Maybe the location had something to do with it.
Next I placed the blocks like this:
zzzzCHITIKAzzzz zzzzADSENSEzzzz
I got the same results. Adsense did fine, Chitika did noting.
I also noticed that Chitika recently stopped counting impressions from countries they don’t serve. That was done to show a more accurate picture of eCPM.

The Chitika ads help me, but they are way behind my Adsense earnings. I find the Chitika ads "decorate" my pages nicely - so I dont have to go hunting for photos to add to my pages.
For instance, on a page featuring MP3 players, an Adsense ad may say "MP3 players - Latest models from all brands at discount prices" while the Chitika ad only shows only one brand/model in one color. Adsense usually wins the click battle in that scenario.
