Hi, I run small but growing UK holistic health site promoting my own training courses, health studio,a therapists register, and a new to launch shop, which will principally sell MP3 hypnosis, body awareness, and health related goods and downloads. I also have a micro database (1000) to send out to, which just started in January. I am curious about the affiliates concept. Anyone out there know any health as in, organics/spas/healthy breaks/Minerals/conferences other who operate on an affiliates basis, I am signing up to Amazon. I have been reading some of the content here, and thought I would model in the affiliates to my newsletter, and add advertsing to the site as newsletter and hits increase. Any suggestions from you experienced folk. Thank you

Welcome to WebmasterWorld! If you have products to sell, you might want to consider having your own affiliate program as well as helping amazon sell their stuff. Of course having your own program takes time to administer and recruit affiliates, but you can do quite well if you find a few good affiliates to promote your goods.

I am doing something somewhat related in the US. I have just started to looking into affiliate marketing, from the merchant side. I did was an affiliate of some vendors but I decided that as I was developing a customer base I wanted to keep everone I can. So I dropship if I can not create or stock an item. I am looking into doing an affiliate program as a merchant. There is alot involved, the jury is still out in my case.

You might want to consider an outsourced affiliate manager. The good ones already know the ropes thoroughly and some already have a loyal following who sign up for their programs as soon as they roll out.

I've looked at them but a 3k to 5k monthly fee plus percent for 3 to 6 months while things ramp up (if they ever do) is not in the budget.
