Im new to this and would value any input from more experienced webmasters here.
UK Site, 4 million Page Impressions, circa 500,000 Visitors per month.
Currently im toying with running miva Pay per click adverts on some pages - no idea what the CTR will be but click rates vary and look OK. Miva adverts would look better on my site than adwords so im thinking the CTR will be higher hence selecting miva for this and i also like the miva email deal where i can email registered visitorswith PPC adverts from my site.
Im also thinking of running some banner adverts on the site and would like a CPM model - i looked at one ad company today that offers a rotating banner but it works out at about 20-60p CPM which i thought was poor for the amount of space they take up
Im thinking that it would be the best of both worlds if i could run both PPC adverts and CPM banners on the same page. ie a win win from users just seeing the advert and clicking on others. Perhaps even add an exit pop up?
Any ideas what companies to try? Im looking at the best financial return i can get so who ever pays the most is where the deal will be done. i can feature any adverts other than anything that may offend - also, has anyone any idea of the sort of income range thats possible from the page impressions and visitor numbers ive indicated.
Thanks in advance for any replies and any time afforded in answering this post. Im in the dark regarding this and would appreciate any views or thoughts on the matter
Kind Regards
Rich
This would allow you to cut out the middleman and consequently earn more. Sure, you might have fewer advertisers, but you will most likely still earn the same amount and have better editorial control over what adverts are shown on your site.
There is a well known site in the UK that is charging just over £10cpm, selling banners ads directly from their site. And they have about a quarter of the visitors and page impressions that you have!
