AdSense or Affiliate Links

What would you do?

I'm setting up a new web site that is a consumer review, buying advice type site.

There are several good affiliate merchants that would work well with the theme of the site.

AdSense would work, too.

I suppose the only way to really determine which would work best is to test both.

Which would you choose?

Adsense on low converting pages and also where the product value is < $50. Affiliate links on the rest.

arran.

You don't need to make a choice. Do both.

Some of my best-performing review pages, with links to Amazon, are also my best-performing AdSense pages.

Warning newbie posting... relating to Gabby's comment. As a retail user of websites I have always found that the way things are presented works for me. If either Adsense/affiliate link are presented professionally and in synch with the site then I would go and have a look.

Am I the only 1 to think like this or are there others?

Using both on your website is better than not using either.

I have found that direct links in your text to affiliate sites works best. Adsense ads come in second. Banner ads from affiliate sites perform the worst.
