Text links always win out over banners. Especially when woven into your content.

Buttons and odd sized banners can perform nicely when placed in strategic positions.

Per impression ads are at an all-time low. You will be hard pressed to find a company willing to take on a new account with a decent CPM.

What you have left is CPC and CPA. I usually use whatever I can find that best fits my content, but targetted CPA has been the best for me.

#1 - Sponsorship of topic-related content pages. Look for flat rate deals.

#2 - Text.

RC are you talking about full page ads. Whole pages that advertise the product?

No, get a publisher to add a nice button and a line or two of descriptive text/link on even a modestly popular page that relates to the subject. I know of a 4-wheeler tour that sponsors a page about some wild horses that roam in their area. The click-thru and conversion rates are high, the cost: $75/mo.

Also, sponsorship ads usually do not rotate.
