I know there are restrictions on using trade or service marks in the domain name, but I'm wondering if there's a general rule or a trademark issue if we want to dedicate a page (or pages or a section) to specific merchants and name the pages or directories themselves as such. Like for kewlwidgets.com - is it OK to name the pages kewl.html or kewlwidgets.html or is it trademark infringement?

I am not a lawyer, nor is this legal advice, but I know that a company I used to work used to think that they could use a competitors name if they were making a comparison. "Widgets vs Wodgets". Best check with your lawyer.

The important question is what they would try to enforce as trademark infringment, and I suspect that if you were selling their product they wouldn't. If in doubt, it's probably cheaper to check with the merchant than with a lawyer.
