Hey, Im a new member to webmaster world and was wondering what type of advertizing would be best? It is a fairly new gaming site only getting 300-400 visitors a day but growing...

I have heard alot about burst and fast click but I wasnt sure if that was the right way to go

You can give the banner brokers a try, but gaming sites are hard to get in these days.

You may want to consider promoting affiliate programs that would tie in with your content.

I've got a gaming site and couldn't get into fastclick or burst. If you want to make decent money with a gaming site you're probably going to need more traffic than that, the type of people who go to gaming sites are generally pretty net savvy and wouldn't click on a banner or pop-up in a million years.

If you want to make money from this kind of site you're going to have to think of other ways unless you can get mega-traffic.

The thing that springs to my mind is affiliating with PC game sellers (amazon maybe) you could add a sub section to your site specifically targeting that. Don't blame me if it doesn't work though!

I too would try amazon.

You absolutely need targeted products for this one.

Use amazon's recommend feature after surfing for the game in question to see what they recommend - and then sell it.

My first affiliate sale came from amazon.

It is hard to get lots of money selling through amazon, but you can still make some bucks here and there.

I would suggest strategically placing links to merchants selling game titles and merchandise.

For example, UT2003 game review page should contain a link to merchants selling the title. You can also setup something like shopping.yoursite.com and promote your shopping site on all your pages.

Develop a mailing list to inform your visitors of new game releases/reviews/cheat codes. Once you have a large list, you can send solo advertisements targeting your visitors.

thebad88,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

You may want to consider looking at affiliate programs that promote broadband Internet access as well as computer memory and other computer add-ons for gaming users that like to overclock their computers.
