For example, you can sign up for poster affiliate programs from AllPosters.com. A few other merchants for your site would be audio/video/DVD affiliate programs, Amazon affiliate program and possibly software affiliate programs (Popup killers, privacy software etc).
Make sure you target them properly. For example, your Jenniffer Lopez page should contain links to JLo posters, music albums and movie videos of JLo and, if they exist, links to books on JLo at Amazon.
I wouldn't recommend using banners - you have enough eye candy on your website already. Place a few text links strategically and track the response of your users. Try changing the text if you are not getting a good response.
I bet your website has popups - get rid of them.
I got a single celebrity site which I build because I am her big fan. I build it in 1998 and it become quite popular today with 1000 visitors a day + 15,000 page views a day!
WOW!
I make $2.99 last month selling 1 poster. :) Total poster revenue for last few years if around $50. Better than none. I make $1+ from selling a book through amazon since I joined them few years ago.
Posters are not a good revenue income since the top affiliates of allposters only make around $5000. Photo site also swallow a lot of traffic. If you got high traffic, I prefer you run those CPM base pop-ups advertising program. when you serve 1000 unique visitors a day, you get pay $3-5 so enf of month you still can get around $100. Enough to pay the hosting bill.
