Affiliate link Dilemma

Redirections and firewall problems

Hello,

Today I became aware of 2 things regarding firewalls:

1- Norton Personal Firewall will automatically hide Commission Junction affiliate links in Internet Explorer. So a user running Norton Personal Firewall will not see or be able to click on links to affilates through Commission Junction. I am not sure about other affiliate programs.

2- Windows XP has a firewall that disables double redirections. So, if I attempt to fix the issue above using a redirection, it will not work under Windows XP. I will redirect the link to commission junction, and commission junction will redirect it to the proper advertiser's website. That is 2 redirections, and it does not work under Windows XP.

Can anybody confirm the above, or am I missing something. Is there anyway to get around this to make it work with different firewalls?

I would certainly like to hear the answer to the above 2 also.

Try encoding the link with urlencode. I don't have problems with double redirections with my firewall or WinXP.

Perhaps this is the difference - but I'm not certain.
