Thanks, Ove. I guess figures for June will be less favourable. Fine weather and Worldcup - my traffic has gone down significantly..

My sister went to Germany a few weeks back and is still there. However she told me unlike the USA they have to pay per minute for the Internet + the AOL fees. I'd figure with so many people using the net the time/rates would be lifted is this something only for that area she is in or do Germans all around Germany face the rates?

I´m from Germany and have a "flat fee" dsl connection. This is very popular in Germany. Flat fee DSL access is usually priced around 25,- Euro a month for the ISP and about the same amount for the telefone / splitter "infrastructure" at home.

In the eastern part of Germany however (the former GDR) DSL is not available in many areas. After the reunion, one of the world´s best fibre optical networks was build in the eastern part of Germany. Funny thing is, DSL only works with the old copper cables.. ;) So in these areas, you have the best technical infrastructure in the world - and go online with 64KBit.
