and they think they can add keywords to my account - I can see why they do it: for their own benefit. I think they should ask permission first from their clients.

anyone else been victim to this type of behaviour from espotting?

My understanding is that they take every combination of the words you pay for and add them to the list... yes... without asking.

If you have bought phrases with three, four or more words in them... that's a lot of additions! They apparently rejuggle the same words and add the new phrases to your tab.

I suppose I could say something like "what do you expect from a PPC company", but instead: if you use these guys, get into the habit of going in there and suspending (their word) everything they have added as soon as possible after purchase.

Alternatively, of course, don't use them.

Believe me man, I wish I didn't have to use them. Gotta keep those hits rolling in - the more the merrier.

Got those 'extra' keywords off - at least the ones I didn't want. Just wrote them an email and told them that I would like to be in charge of MY account.

If I am paying for hits I want people to be sure they know what they are going to see when they click on my link - NOT believeing the subject of my site is something resulting from an espotting editor's play on words.

I wish I could crack UKPlus.com, then I could kiss goodbye to ppc. espotting gets me into the 'preffered' listing (top 5). And, of the 5 ppc engines i use, this is the most effective.

Five lines at the top of the directory return is far more effective than the one line you get from espotting, even though it is higher (it is far less visible).

It is hard to get in there, but patience is a virtue (second time I've said that today). I just keep plugging away and they eventually (don't hold your breath) get in there.

Your enthusiasm for UKplus is interesting though, because there are much better places to focus (although to be fair to them, they do deliver some B2C traffic).

I am listed but hard to find.

The reasons I want a good listing:

a) when i first got listed I was about number 3 on my preferred keyword and I was getting approx 60 hits a day from it - which was great. Until, they moved me TOTALLY out of the main search and tucked into a subcategory whose name IS my keyword.

b) i see it as a source of british consumers - which are important to us.

The results for my keyphrase is pitiful, the top three are very amateur and offering little in the way of quality and quantity. UKplus claim to be human edited but I can't see any intelligent editing going on.

Their algos - they clearly use some sort of algo, albeit unusual - are baffling as the site ranked number one is not much more than a picture page, and its not as if once you get past the picture it improves.

I tried emailing them some time ago and suggested that our website would be far more useful to searchers than what they are offering in their top 5 (I didn't put it so bluntly) and they wrote back talking about alogo etc can't help you, etc.

I need help ;)

I'd go for the usual places: Google, msn (co.uk via L$), yahoo, lycos (via FAST), AV, UKdirectory, etc.
