"The amount of time European at-home Internet users spend online has risen dramatically in the past nine months.... ...The total monthly time online increased by 94 percent in Britain from June 2000 to Feb. 2001. During the same period, it increased by 225 percent in France and 226 percent in Germany." article here [cyberatlas.internet.com]

Everyone in Germany must be a webmaster if they spend an average of 14 hours on line.

Monthly, Mike, monthly... not everyone is like you & me, we knock out 14 hours every day. They are doing 1/2 hour per day. I can't imagine how anyone can average so low a rate.

Very interesting. These figures are a lot higher than recent Nielsen/NetRating figures discussed here [webmasterworld.com] just two months ago. Nielsen had Americans down for 9 hours per month then and I doubt if Germans have passed them, so I wonder what the latest US figures might be.

Jupiter MMXI and Nielsen use the same basic method, but I wonder if Nielsen might be dividing total hours by total online population and MMXI total hours by active online population. This will require some further investigation.
