Hello,

I am considering to submit my sites to zeal by going thru' all their procedures which might take a couple of days.

However, i'd be very interested to know, How important is Zeal in driving good traffic to our sites?

Do they have any major partners?

Thank you for any feedback!

Cheers

Do they have any major partners?

They used to have MSN as a partner but don't anymore. A couple of months ago Zeal was quite important, as of this week its fallen down to near the bottom of my list.

Depends on how busy you are. If you have the time, then do it.

They're a decent directory, and may have value again at some point. You never know who'll partner with them and may be important in a few months/years time.

Zeal are here to stay. If you can get in easily, then it certainly won't do you any harm.

Thank you. I did read some threads on MSN removing zeal from their SERPs. thats sad, though.

Yes, i may have to spend atleast 4/5 hours to submit all my sites to relevant categories.

Thanks for your feedback.

Well, up until Nov. 4 it was very important to my site.

MSN dropped the directory listings. My new site, which was averaging 875+ visits per day and growing, dropped 75%.

Sales, which were starting to come in at 3 per day and growing, are now .......... zero.

Had #1 ranking in our category too :(

Even with high page ranking on Google hasn't helped.

Oh, well, back to finding a work around. That's why I've been spending alot of reading time here :)

You must have a lot of sites then. For anyone who just wants to do one or a few submissions, it takes little time. Maybe traffic now will be low, but it is worth the minimal effort.

Dont forget joeant
you will get a lot more incoming links from a joe listing.
None of the directories bring much traffic but they are good for links and pr, IMHO.

rfgdxm1 - yes, i do have some sites.

Joeant - I guess inclusion into joeant is now a paid feature unlike previously which used to be free. i don't see any traffic from joeant inclusion excepting a couple fo visitors once in a while. Moreover, recently i did check thru' some of their categories, hardly any listings in there. Any serious partners for Joeant?

IIRC, you can submit for free to JoeAnt if you sign up as an editor.

I thought that when you signed up you can only submit to one category?

Yes...but I have seen people post sites on the internal message boards and get entries in that way.
