Anyone know how to prevent these pops from coming through? All of a sudden they Firefox is unable to block them. Anyone know of anyway to block them?
Thanks,

I don't get any.
Which version are you running?

1.0.1. I just installed adblock. That seemed to stop the pop-unders.
Thanks,

Someone has evidently figured out a way to circumvent Firefox's popup blocker. I've been getting a popup ever time I visit the website of a local newspaper.
I wonder if one could take legal action against a website that circumvention a protection feature I put in place.

Well, lawyers will often find a way for you to take legal action. What seems unlikely to me is winning the action. (However, the courts have been mighty odd with Internet issues to date.)

I have noticed many more pop-ups since I upgraded to Firefox 1.0 to take advantage of the security patch, which was not available for my .8 Firefox version. My V.8 version did an awesome job at blocking third-party ad pop-ups, yet didn't prevent the viewing of popups from the originating site. With FF 1.01, it seems to be an all or nothing gig. Either block all or block none. Were it not for the security patch, I'd dump 1.01 and return to .8, which seemed to have better built-in filtering without having to load a bunch of add-ins, bookmarklets or plug-ins to get it to behave like you wanted it to.
Time to dust off Popup Blocker, I guess.
