Firefox only shows some of the classes from my CSS file

I developed an internal site with an accampanying CSS. When I look at the pages in MSIE, it's fine. the page was developed using FrontPage 2003 so that's not a surprise. Firefox however is another story...
It doesn't want to read the background color, cell padding or font changes other than the ones set up in BODY.
Any ideas?
