Yahoo is planning to launch on Wednesday an ad network for small Web publishers intended to strengthen its hand against rival Google, a source familiar with the plan told CNET News.com.

Yahoo's new service will differ from Google in that it will add human editorial to the selection of ads for content pages. In comparison, Google's service relies on technology.

Hmm, more or less all my traffic is US, but I'm not from there. Ah well...

I'm unclear. I got the email notice with the link so I could fill out the form to apply for the YPN beta testing. I filled out the form. It's been 48 hours or so now. Can I expect some definitive yes or no answer to my application? If so what sort of time frame?

We received an "Exclusive Invite to Yahoo! Publisher Network Beta" email last Wednesday and was accepted into their program on Thursday.

We just placed YPN on the home page of our site today and will see how it does for us. We've been with AdSense for two years now so we are taking it very, very slow with YPN.

The one key benefit of YPN is the ability to move earnings from YPN to Overture (YSM).

Now that some more time has passed, do the earnings remain favorable against adsense?

First impression - ad text too large, would like to see the entire ad. It seemed I got psa's , refreshed the page a few times then the ads showed.
