I own a decent website with a very international topic in 3 supported languages. I intended to only show Yahoo ads on the English pages and only to American visitors. I have about 160,000 page views per month. However, I never got accepted into the YPN program.

Could the reason be that my site is so international. Are they afraid that too many non-USers will click?

Almost certainly. YPN is still in Beta, the rest of the world can't get it at all yet. I've never even seen a site with it on, and I have to presume that's down to its accurate geotargetting.

You'll just have to build a US-based site, or wait for it to roll out internationally, like the rest of the world.

We get far more page views than sven1977 (not bragging -- just commiserating with being unable to get in even though it seems like YPN should be interested). Our site in only in English, though has very international traffic. YPN will not let us in, and will not tell us why (other than form letters saying we don't meet their rules and regulations -- which I have read and cannot figure out why we would not be in compliance with them). It's all been very strange to me -- like it's some kind of a secret as to why they consider our site inappropriate for their program. Doesn't make me hold out much hope for YPN being a viable competitor to AdSense.
