Google Adsense 336x280 ads are showing 2 out of 4 slots empty. None of these problems in YPN for the same square sizes.

Yes and I think the ads even look better in YPN. Targeting is still not the best but that should get better in time.

YPN does fluctuate the number of ads in an ad unit but it is not as prevelant as it is in AdSense right now.

Yes, YPN does vary the number of ads sometimes, but it is quite rare, and usually only happens when there is not enough inventory. However, Google claims that by showing a fewer number of ads, publishers will make more money.
