Hello i was woundering if anyone out there knows if yahoo is ok with a search box from another company (like google or miva) is allowed on the same page as a yahoo advertisment on it.

That's a question for your rep but I suspect that as long as you don't show YPN ads on the same page as other contextual/ppc ads you should be OK.
I would make sure that the YPN ads are not on the actual search page (the page which has getting people to search as the main function), the reason for this is that it's not a content page.
