Right. I got another dollar too. He said the error will go away and you'll see the final dollar amount of the check. I said... 'What do you mean final dollar amount'? Isn't that the figure to the right on the screen? He says.. No, that figure can be adjusted further. I hung up the phone and then told him what I thought of that.
Just from what I have heard and experienced so far with YPN I don't think that we have too much to worry about!
Oh well, I guess we will just see what happens when the checks come eh? No use in really worrying about it till then...
I actually came out of the customer support and customer experience management/crm industry. I was probably one of the first Americans to follow the BPO trend into India, and I run websites that often times, are catered to Americans (and UK folks) who are living overseas. That's where the majority of my traffic comes.
And relative to Adsense, I am so astoundingly pleased with YPN customer service and support (and I'm speaking as someone who has run 1,000+ seat contact centers before I bugged out and became a teacher) that unless they do something really ridiculous, I don't even mind the fact that I can't get the great epc on my foreign clicks.
I've got quite a few sites here and there that are doing pretty well, with YPN, Adsense, Chitika, etc. but on the newer sites that I'm making (within the last 2 months) I'm using YPN exlusively.
I'll probably axe Adsense altogether come new year. Maybe I'll keep it on one page, just to keep the account active. I'll probably keep Chitika too, just because of my theory that it prevents YPN ad blindness.
But I'll say this - For me, YPN has been the most impressive revenue generating strategy that I've ever tried, as a small-medium publisher. I can't get someone on the phone anywhere else.
Let's get some better targetting, and direct deposit, and I'll be Yahoo's version of Jared from Subway. :)
I always get a bit nervous when they call me, I guess its from all my terrible experiences with Adsense... The customer service reps think we're all paranoid people but seriously Google screwed me so many times.
When you see Error State, they have sent them, so its just up to USPS when you get it... estimate they are in california, to however long it takes for 1st class mail to get to your part of the country.
I live in MN, usually takes between 3-5 days from cali.
