What is the rule regarding YPN and placing it on different sites? Is this allowed? Can someone expand on this?

you are allowed to place it on any site you own, as long as it doesn’t break their TOS

Wrong.
The TOS says you can place them ONLY on the site you signed up with and you cannot show them to foreign visitors.

That is a printed statement in their TOS.

"The TOS says you can place them ONLY on the site you signed up with"

I see this on sooo many sites -- multiple people here are using it on many of their own sites too ..

are you sure ann? i think they mean you can't start a small agency(selling yahoo ads when they are in beta would be chaos for yahoo) i place them under both of my sites without any problems. Although both of the domains are basically the same site (one goes directly to the forums, and the other goes to the home page)

I only know what is in the TOS and if I were using them I would get anything extra in writing.

BTW you can't shaw them to foreign countries either.

I just checked the YPN TOS, it does not say anything about placing links on mulitple sites a publisher controls. YPN TOS Link - [publisher.yahoo.com...]

Try the T&C, it IS there I sure don't make any points by lying about it.

OKAY I found it for you.

It is 11-J in the T&C
(you may not)
J display all or part of the Ad Unit on any web site that is not enrolled in the Beta Program, or sublicense or syndicate the Matched Ads to any other entity or web site;

Just email YPN, I have their code on 5 sites that I own with no problem from them. Their reply was that I could publish their ads on any site that I controlled that met their T&Cs.

They replied to me within a few hours when I was accepted.

I called Yahoo when I decided to do this and they said it was fine as long as I owned it.

Well, until I see it in print I won't be using them. Especially the part about not showing them to foreign countries...not gonna start up until they decide to change the TOS and the T&C to include all this word of mouth telling people to blatantly break their own rules..

Better safe than sorry. My account will just have to stay on hold for awhile.
