Strange Googlebot

I saw a strange one too claiming to be a phone browser.

The IP address usually helps determine if it is a true google bot or not.

Sorry guys - can't get the IP (otherwise I would have just done an IP lookup) - the site in question is behing a massive foundry iron so IP's are impossible to get.

see this google cached page [66.102.9.104] (symantec.com) - it seems to be an XP machine spoofing Gbot.

That company also markets some type of internet monitoring software. Could be an affected machine will leave a modified user agent with this type signature.

Also they market a macro type agent to automate the extraction of information from websites...from the product page: submits data from a file to a website and stores the result from the website in a text file.

I would probably just block their i.p. and be done with it.

Ive been hit by the Googlebot also. I didnt think much of it.
