Have looked all over this section to see if anyone has details about the "Fish Search" bot.

Its currently visiting my site every day - whats the point of it? anyone know what it does with the information or who it feeds?

Could you post the UA string? Might help some.

Fish Search is, as far as I can see, either an expired domain, or this: [archive.ncsa.uiuc.edu...]

Searching for Arbitrary Information in the WWW:
the Fish-Search for Mosaic.

[robotstxt.org...]

Describes the / a bot.

[artedi.nrm.se...]

Start page for NRM Ichthyology collection search.

From the academic perspective, Ichthyology searches are not a bad thing, unless your site is NOT related to fishes, then you could ban if you saw fit.

Hi,

Thanks for that. My site has nothing to do with Fish its a job site. My domain name has fish in the title. Do you think i should ban it?
