Hi all

I have a site with a a large guestbook, and want to keep all of the people who have left their email address with there message from being harvested by such bad bots as art-online.

Could i set up a simple "bot trap" as alot of you are reffering to? What is a bot trap?

Or are there another way that would be smarter?

Kind Regards
Klaus

I suggest the following articles:

Apache & PHP:
http*//www.fleiner.com/bots/
http*//www.ahref.com/guides/technology/200009/0922piou.html

IIS & ASP:
http*//www.waag.ch/chris/authoring/robots-banned.asp

Sorry the last article is in German, but it's the only one I found about a trap for ASP since IIS doesn't support

.htaccess
. Google-translation of it isn't too bad, for the sample code you'd have to visit the real page though.

Mods: I hope it's OK I posted these URLs (delinked), otherwise remove it and I'll sticky the URLs to anyone who wants to know.
