27 Googlebot's on my site

...all at the same time

Just gone through a few hours of my site's logs to find that at one point today, there were 27 Googlebot/2.1 spiders on my site.

27 different IPs I noted down.

Is that unusual or not?

As to unusual or not, I can not say.

However, Is this the real Googlebot? - or UA spoofing - [webmasterworld.com] has a link off of it that might be more to what you're looking for.

I've had very heavy traffic from the googlebots for the past two days, more than anything I've ever seen.

I've had quite a few googlebots on my site lately so I wouldn't doubt it was Googlebot loven your site ;)

My "Most users ever online" stat for my forum has been bumped up a couple of times in the last week or so, ending with 25 on Friday. A couple were actual users, but most were Google individual IPs. It only counds the unique IPs, so if I go to the admin panel for the actual IPs and where they're at, it'll be huge as the same IP will be on multiple pages.
