Reading through this forum makes me want to join the game of monitoring and regulating the spiders visiting my client's sites.

Are there any freeware or shareware packages out there that simplify the monitoring of spider visits?

Thanks!

do you have access to your site logs?

if you do, then analog is a popular free choice. or alternatively i think you can get a free version of funnelweb, which is excellent, but has to reinstalled periodically.

Analog has a portion for pre-defined bots.
It is also configureable to add in bots as you chose by both name and IP.

Analog is configureable for most anything regarding stats.
Although it can get a bit "trying" :)
