Is this Alta Vista?

There is someone using my browscap.ini file who claims the above user agent string is for AV. I don't doubt him but I want to be sure, too. Can anyone confirm this for me as I haven't seen it in the log files for any of my websites. TIA.

Unless you do not give us IPs, we cannot prove anything.

I am

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030509

That is a perfectly valid useragent for the Mozilla browser.

Thanks for your replies. The user agent was submitted via a form on my website so I don't have an IP Address. In hindsight an IP Address form field will be helpful.

garyk,

very much so on the IP field... i guess you don't have access
to the raw logs for your site?

I'm pretty sure that AltaVista's robot is called Scooter. Like Duckula said that looks like Mozilla on Linux to me.
