But...
It is log spamming, it repeats the UA several times to make sure it gets your attention.
It does not obey robots.txt.
It has a domain dedicated to the crawler, but does not have a functional search engine.
The sites and bot are coming out of a win32 platform.
It turns out that the main site is basically a solicitation for a Christian IT/hosting business.
So, we are not giving them a free plug by naming the company, bot or website. If any trace of this bot shows up in the forum its getting deleted.
If you want the IP stickymail me.
Thanks, I will sticky...
Is this the appropriate way you wish us to handle anyone we feel is log spamming? I can understand not putting the UA in- that makes sense... but perhaps just posting the IP would be acceptible?
(Sorry- not trying to upsur your authority... just trying to get the "Offical" view!)

The reason why I don't want the IP of the bot posted right now is two folds:
#1 (lesser reason) Is because the bot and the website are coming out of the same place.
#2 Mess prevention. This just feels like it is likely to be one of our own.
I can almost guarantee that this is a crafty self employed web promoter with a good amount of home brewed tech working for him.
RC, Nick_W, I'll go tone it down.
Understood! Thanks for letting me know!
>>> I don't believe we've established an official protocol when it comes to log spamming
I would think it a good policy to not use UA's- or at least edit/mangle them.... after all, WW IS indexed all the time, no use giving them the exposure they want! (And probably good PR to boot!)
