Quick question Is the following (verbatim, with all spaces in the right place) a signature of a regular browser?

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible ; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)

I'm a little irritated. It triggered my spider trap but I guess it could be traped be some kind of preload feature from a sophisticated browser, too.

matthias,

It's unusual to have "compatible<space>;" in the ua. Probably a fake ua.

Yours:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible ; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)
A fresh one from one of my sites:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)

Just curious, and if you don't mind, what IP did it come from?

I traped him three times (in two days).

217.236.182.*
217.236.184.*
217.236.180.*

I think it was the same machine with a dial-in connection.
