The spider mentioned here:

[webmasterworld.com...]

is now coming around with a NEW UA and a new IP...

205.149.6.226 - - [16/Feb/2003:03:45:12 -0700] "GET /index.html HTTP/1.0" 200 4536 "-" "NetResearchServer/2.7(loopimprovements.com/robot.html)"

I guess the new name sounds more professional? I personally liked the old one.

Anyway, what are your reads on this one?

Hm, at one point, I had that one banned. These days, there is so much spidering that I really don't want, it's too time consuming to keep up with all my sites, so I just let them go.

I guess my thought is that, if it's important, then ignoring it and letting it do it's thing might be good :)

The flip side, of course, is that I hope the annoying ones just go out of business before I add them to my .htaccess file...

Since it has a new IP and a new UA, how do you conclude that it's "the same" spider?

I have seen loopimprovements for at least a year, and IncyWincy only rarely during the same time.

Hey Jim:

Long time, no talk! (Sorry! Been busy with Yeck!)

Anyway, both Incy and this one reference "loopimprovements.com/robot.html", so I figured they were both from loopimprovements...
