However I thought I might mention that Indy are programming components for Borland Delphi (Win32) and Kylix (Linux) and basically allow a programmer to write server or client software for various protocols (including http and email).

From what I gathered, most people put up a blanket ban on the Indy Library. Probably most often it will be used maliciously as, for example, there won't be many people writing their own browser clients. If they do, chances are they will modify the user agent string anyway.
BTW, our web server was programmed using the Indy Library.
I've NEVER seen an Indy UA come from any other IP ranges outside of the far east.
As far as I'm concerned personally the user can tailor the software however they desire.
My sites have nothing to benefit them and the only thing they offer me is unnecessary costs.
Thanks for the input though :-)
