I'm assuming the IP referenced was given in a sticky...

That's very interesting... It looks like an end user machine, purportedly running Kazaa, with a service running on port 80. I fired up KazaaLite, then did a netstat -an but I dont' see anything. Perhaps if a few others with different versions of Kazaa could check their machines?

That IP is from the original post about Stentor National Integrated Communications Network.

The IP I saw was 142.177.168.175. Stentor owns both 142.173 and 142.177 IP ranges.

I have the Sam Spade tools on my machine as well as access to a command line, so I always do a whois and a dig on unknown IPs. My query is concerned with others who have seen this bot poking around. Does it violate the robots protocol? Is it a snooper or a page scrapper?

In other words, I am looking for information that will aid me in my decision to ban it or not.
