attempts on form processing

why does this occur

I have noticed within my web log that twice attempts have been made to execute web forms (pl scripts) that are not publicly accessible on the site. They have been put there by myself as I develop a better form to the one provided by my host.

A) How have they been acessed, (a spider) and if so B) what was the purpose of them attempting to do this? My web log includes a number of spiders but all seem to reputable ie TurnitinBot

any thoughts
