It allows you to search for an image based on filename. I couldn't find any information on the site about how it works or even a privacy policy or contact. The only contact is to its owner, Cobion. At that site, I did a search for visoo and was directed to an explanation page. (I'm not supposed to put urls in here, right?). Anyway, here's an excerpt:
Utilizing the power of its Content Technology Platform, Cobion provides the world's richest visual content searches as a hosted service to portals, destination sites, corporations, image galleries, and others. We provide highly accurate information on the visual content contained within digital images, information that cannot be obtained from any other online source. Cobion readily makes available layers of information contained in hundreds of millions of images on the Web.
They also do deep image searches and "OCR Rich Context" searches.
Back at visoo, I entered the filename of one of my images, and sure enough, it came right up - not on my site but at the site of a legitimate graphics user of mine. I did this a few times and got several of my own files. A thumbnail of the image appeared and below that was a link to the page it was on, but by clicking the thumbnail I was brought directly to the full-size image file at the site it was on (no site context - just the image). At least with google - and many other image search engines - they post procedures on how to remove your images from their database. I couldn't find this kind of information on their site.
A search here at webmasterworld, didn't yield any results, so I'm wondering if anyone has come across this. Perhaps I'm just not looking in the right places.
