Hi:

I see this in my logs a lot:

GET /_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?UL=1&ACT=4&BUILD=2614&STRMVER=4&CAPREQ=0 HTTP/1.0

And I am curious exactly what that is. I know it has something to do with Frontpage or something.

Nott as frequently, I also get this:

Get /MSOffice/cltreq.asp?UL=1&ACT=4&BUILD=2614&STRMVER=4&CAPREQ=0 HTTP/1.0

Which seems a little bit more of a worry (to me) because of the MSOffice in the URL

Neither file exists on my system. Just curious what they are doing...

I think I saw this a few days ago...

The first one looks like a script looking for a hole in your server config.

The second one I believe has to do with someone just having Office and/or IE installed on their PC.

Might want to try a site search as I know for sure the second question has been covered before;

[webmasterworld.com...]

Sadly no-one has posted a good answer about the appears to have a good answer about "/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll", but a quick googling gives you; (find the owssvr.dll on the page)

[msdn.microsoft.com...]
