Maybe they are seeing if any of your webpages pirates intellectual property.

Is that why they were running thru my registered trademark and copyright information?

Thanks Wilderness,

Still wondering if anyone else has seen this robot on their logs or you only see it when someone uses this service?

<Still wondering if anyone else>

Intelectual is OUT of my league ;-)

I did look in my accumulated files of ISP's with zilch for sly.
In fact when I did a search at google on
"SlySearch/1.0" there was only a solitary result.
These types of results are log entries and generally result in pages.

Got hit by their page, on the robotsinfo page it says:
Don't let the name give you the wrong impression! We are not comparing your content against other content on the Internet. The information we are collecting from the Internet is used solely for the purposes of helping educational institutions compare their students' writings against the Internet.

I got hit by it also, only I thought it was a DOS attack.
They requested 580 pages that did not exist with all kinds of screwed up text.

Just banned it forever...

type in htaccess
You can also do a search at google

There are various and many different things which can be accomplished with htacccess depending upon what your hosting site/server has implemented.

I had four requests with Mozi! on Wednesday. They were:

131.155.193.112 - Eindhoven University of Technology (Holland)
129.69.221.120 - University of Stuttgart (two requests)
129.27.3.52 - Technische Universitaet Graz (Austria)

These Mozi! requests come maybe twice a month from various universities (I remember one from Switzerland). The files requested via the 3 IPs above were different (but I don't remember if that has always been the case). I have no idea what's going on.

I just looked up Aport, it looks to be Russian.
