I have a file named data. Is it possible that i can do changes (in terms of codings, edit pictures, etc) in a shockwave flash object file type?

what kind of object, the .swf?

you need the .fla to edit it. If you only have the .swf you can attempt to de-compile it, insert the objects into flash and re-create it.

SoThink SWF Decompiler is the only product i know of that de-compiles .swfs.

it didnt say it's .swf or wat so ever. it just say type of file: shockwave flash object. i heard my friend said that the file has been flatten. so besides SWF Decompiler, can macromedia flash open that file?

if its not a .fla then no, macromedia cannot open it. An object of Type "Shockwave Flash Object" is a .swf which needs to be de-compiled.

i've downloaded that software. but it doesnt seems to let me do any changes to the picture or text field in particular.

sothink swf allows .swf files to be converted into .fla file right?

yes it dose allwo a re-creating of the .fla but you have to have some skill in flash to use it properly. A DECOMPILER does not make the "original" version. It makes what it can based on the info in the compiled .swf. That being said, movie clips are not the original names, objects may not be "all" there. And if you want to edit an image you dont do that in flash anyways! Use Photoshop or something.

are you asking if photoshop can update flash movies? no, photoshop is image editing software. Flash can edit flash movies. thats it. Photoshop edits images, which you import into flash and use in your movies.

why are you doing this stuff if you dont even know what tools to use? Perhaps you should invest some money in hiring a flash programmer for yourself.

besides looking for answers, this doesnt mean i cant do this sort of things by myself. i may just do it for fun and see what i can do with the software, etc and of coz, gain some knowledge on certain things that i'm not very sure abuot. thanks for all ur help oxbaker and mikko.
i'll try to decompile the .swf and compile it into .fla and do changes there.
