Flash Video Preloader

I have a flash video file(.flv) which i publish using dreamweaver...
(insert->media->flash video). how can i put a preloader script for this... the flash file is about 30 to 40 Megs and it takes a while to load up. about 15 seconds, which is kinda not nice.

two ways i can think of:

1) Convert the .flv to a .swf and insert a standard .swf preloader

2) (bit more elegant) Create a .swf file with a preloader, use the .swf file to load the .flv into itself (the swf needs to be nothing more than a preloader and a blank mc on the stage to link the .flv too) Once you have that .swf built that loads the flv just put that in your html.
