Getting the flash to load in front

Hi,
can someone please tell how I can get a flash animation,with a transparent background, to play on top of the rest of my page,as though it is on a new layer, so it looks as though its flying over it.
When I insert it into the page it just pushes the page down, like any image would if you just plonk it into a page.
If I can get it to hover in front of the rest of the page , I would also like it to load last, so when the page is being read, it appears when they are half way down the page.

I have seen this on the 'New Scientist' site so I know it can be done, but how?

I'm still learning to use CSS but I think if you add this property to a div you get the desired effect z-index: 3 ,
if not consider this a bump :)

In order to have a flash movie appear to be playing over static html content you need to do a couple things:

1) Create a transparent flash movie with your desired effects in it. publish as windowless transparent.

2) Create a custom HTML page and (like the post above) use DIV tags with z-index layering and absolute css positioning to get the swf to the desired location on the html page.
