A client hired me to design some sort of micro site in flash to be sent by email as part of a marketing campaign.

I understand sending flash by email is not such a good idea. Sending the executable is completely out of the question. That I fully undesrtand.

However, is it possible for users that have the flash plug-in installed to open swf's outside of their web browsers?

If this is true, then I suppose we could just attach de swf to the email. What do you guys/girls think?

Built it as HTML page with the Flash hosted on your site.

Most email clients block swf files for security reasons. The best thing to do is just include a link in your email which links to the page on your server that holds the swf file.

email clients dont genrally render flash <object> tags for security reasons.
